Things to do This Weekend Other Than ACL | Weekend Two

Austinites have mixed feelings about the Austin City Limits crowds that invade the city each year, some attend annually, while others do everything they can to stay as far away as possible from the festival.  Regardless of your preference, here are our top picks for weekend two.

Austin Craft Beer Events Oct 8 - Oct 14 2018

All events are FREE and open to the public

On Saturday, Adelbert’s Brewery is hosting the fourth installment of their free event It’s the Tits Fest benefiting the Breast Cancer Resource Center featuring a silent auction, a pop up market, special glasses, tappings and more! Last year the event raised over $4,000 for the BCRC and are hoping to blow that number out of the water with this year’s event.

Independence Brewing Co. is celebrating fourteen years of brewing  on Saturday with a theme of “14-karat gold”. Guy Forsyth is headlining the event and includes special tappings throughout the night of 14 different rare beers and variants.  The party is FREE and open to the public, but you can purchase a $14 ticket to reserve your commemorative glass with three pours. Glasses are limited so reserve yours now.

This Saturday also marks the inaugural Locktoberfest presented by Caracara Brewing Company, held in the city of Lockhart, Texas.  Lockhart’s first and only brewpub, Caracara Brewing Company  was founded by the Creative Director of The Beer Diaries, Mike Mann. The one-day festival is centered around the community and will host many local companies and organizations. The family friendly festival will take place on Market and Main streets of downtown Lockhart, TX outside of Caracara Brewing Company.

Get out to Georgetown and celebrate Oktoberfest style with Rentsch Brewery. The third annual family friendly event will feature Oktoberst food specials, live music German style pretzels, and of course, delicious Rentsch beer all day long!

Like most people, my love for craft beer started after college (once I could afford it!) and escalated quickly. I love being a part of the Austin beer culture and am always expanding my brew knowledge. I work in a high tech company here in town and love spending time with my kiddo, devouring a book and watching all things SciFi. Follow Me on Twitter @PamCraftBeerATX
