Things to do This Weekend Other Than ACL

Austinites have mixed feelings about the Austin City Limits crowds that invade the city each year, some attend annually, while others do every thing they can to stay as far away as possible from the festival.  Regardless of your preference, here are our top picks for weekends one and two.

Weekend One

Make the trip to Driftwood for Outside the City Limits at Vista Brewing featuring seven bands on two stages, fresh Vista brews, hyper-local food vendors, Texas Wine Garden, ReWork Project Game Zone, Kammok Hammock Grove and more! Doors open at noon and tickets are $25 for general admission and $125 for VIP. Details about the event here.

Head over to Pfluegerville and help Flying Man Brewing Company celebrate their one year anniversary weekend with new beer releases including casks on Friday and Saturday.  With plenty of live music and local food all weekend, be sure to dress up on Saturday when the party includes an Oktoberfest celebration.

Looking for some family fun? Head out to Marble Falls and help Save the World Brewing celebrate their fourth anniversary featuring new releases, new exclusive (tasting room only) small batch sour ales, and celebration ales. Tickets from $10.

Even if you are attending weekend one, but you are too beat to make it all weekend – stop by Hops and Grain on Sunday to help them celebrate seven fabulous years of serving Austin hoppy brews. The event is free to attend; however tickets start at $20 guaranteeing you a glass, three pours and for an extra charge, a bottle of their newest release Volumes of Funk with Berries.

Pam Catoe

Like most people, my love for craft beer started after college (once I could afford it!) and escalated quickly. I love being a part of the Austin beer culture and am always expanding my brew knowledge. I work in a high tech company here in town and love spending time with my kiddo, devouring a book and watching all things SciFi. Follow Me on Twitter @PamCraftBeerATX
