This was an odd week for TABC approvals – not many came through and most that did were keg only. With that said, I am happy to see Pinthouse Pizza’s Electric Jellyfish on the list for kegs. I am hoping this means that we can see it at the north location of Pinthouse in the near future (easier for me to get to, so it is completely selfish reasons).
Since the label approvals have been somewhat slow, be sure to check out the newly opened Whitestone Brewing up in Cedar Park. They officially opened their doors around a week ago and should have 4-5 beers on tap by now. It should be a great addition to the scene up there.
Another local brewery that received TABC approval is Orf Brewing. They have been in the works for a number of years, and have been fighting ongoing permit/licensing issues, so it is good to see them finally receive that. They will be on the south side of Austin (near Independence).
As far as Austin goes, we should start seeing Knee Deep Brewing (from California) show up this month around town. They are known for making some great IPAs. For the rest of Texas, that likely won’t show up until later this year.
