It has been a couple of weeks since I have written one of these articles due to not many labels being approved. There were 4 approved in a 2 week span. So, this article will include those, as well as this week’s approvals.

On most weeks, TABC releases what labels have been approved for sale in Texas. Every beer that is sold in Texas has to go through this process before you can see it on store shelves. It is a way to see what will be coming into the Texas market before it shows up at your local bottle shop. The time frame between showing up on the label approval list and hitting the shelves could be anywhere from a day to a couple of months out.

The same can be said for breweries. The brewery approvals tend to be even further out. Every brewery sold in Texas has to go through the same process to get approved by the TABC. Once they do this, they can then get labels approved.

I only include craft beer labels that have been approved.

After each label, I have indicated what they have been approved to sell in. They are as follows:

K = Keg
B = Large format bottle
b = Small format bottle
c = Small format (12oz) can
C = Larger format cans

TABC Brewery Approvals:
Destihl Brewery – Illinois
Einstok Olgerd – Iceland
Fish Brewing – Washington
On Rotation – Dallas

A couple things to take from these releases:

Destihl Brewery – Destihl is based out of Illinois and cans a large amount of their beers. This includes their sour beers which they do plan on sending down to Texas. Look for them at the beginning of next year.

Destihl Brewery

Prairie – Christmas Bomb – Well, a lot of people have been looking forward to this beer. Expect it to start hitting the shelves either this week or next week (from what I have heard). We should be getting more of this than the Balcones Barrel Bomb.

Prairie Christmas Bomb

Fish Brewing – This brewery appears to also go by Fish Tale Brewing. Their beers are already starting to hit the shelves this week including their line of The Hobbit beers.

Fish Brewing

Infamous – Like a lot of other Austin breweries, Infamous is starting their own line of rotational beers called the Derringer. I have had the first one at the brewery already, and it is a great sessionable beer.
