Congrats to Black Star Co-op!
Black Star Co-op, the world’s first cooperatively owned brewpub, will be expanding its business operations with the distribution of its house made beer to local Austin bars. This marks the first step in Black Star Co-op’s expansion initiative, as it grows beyond the established brewpub in North Austin. From the outset of the cooperative’s creation 6 years ago, we have shown the versatility of the workers cooperative business model. We hope to further evidence the sustainability of the cooperative model as we expand, reaching and educating thousands of new potential member-owners.

Flood Distribution, Inc. will handle the sale of our two most popular beers: High Esteem and Vulcan. High Esteem is an elegant golden ale, made with local wildflower honey. Vulcan is a citrusy American IPA and Black Star Co-op’s highest selling beer.

Craft Pride, May 29th
Whip-In, May 30th
Brew & Brew, May 31st
Events at all locations will have free glassware and be attended by the brewers and Co-op members.
